Obama Supports Inter-American Arms Treaty

I’ve picked up on several comments lately about the Inter-American Arms Treaty and thought I might through it out for you to review for yourself. What I’m hearing and reading is that this will at the very least effect those of us that reload our own ammunition. We will be forced to get a licenses and will only be allowed to posses limited amounts of powder, primers and bullets. Gone will be the days of being to pickup bulk supplies when you find a good deal on it. I’ll list my sources for this information and ask that you join me in keeping a eye on this and letting our Washington representatives know how we feel.

I’ve included several references including the text of the treaty it’s self.

This comment was sent to me by email today and I thought everyone would be interested in his thoughts:

I think everyone should stock up on their favorite primers and powders and common-weight bullets, btw, based on the link you posted. i wasn't aware of that. That will create an immense backlash, I predict, if reloaders are "licensed". That is akin to restricting ham radio operators because terrorists might conceivably use radio communications. I don't know that reloaders have assisted any nefarious purpose, ever - they are a harmless group of people, with a harmless activity (unless an armed public isn't "harmless" to your agenda...). It is just the governments in question tipping their hands, so to speak....you control arms and ammo because you want to control people, not because of crime. Crime is just the selling point. An example: shotguns have long been available in Britain, but pistols and rifles (useful for fighting policemen and soldiers) were restricted in the 1920's during a period or riots and political radicalism. Nothing is more devastating in a robbery or a domestic shooting than a shotgun. If you cared one iota about protecting the public, wouldn't they be the first thing outlawed? Watch what they do, not what they say, in other words.
